Community Development Officer – Full time/Part time
The Shire of Moora is seeking a Community Development Officer to assist and support the Community Development and Stakeholder Services team in their daily operations. The successful applicant will assist in the planning, organisation, and delivery of community programs and events, including those that may occur outside of standard working hours.

Passionate about fostering strong community relationships, the Community Development Officer excels in engaging diverse groups, coordinating events, and gathering feedback to improve services. With strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity, they are resourceful, empathetic, and proactive driving positive community impact in dynamic environments
Essential
- Knowledge of the community development space.
- Strong communication skills, including research, reporting and public speaking
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a team-focused, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
- Demonstrated experience in managing client expectations and identifying needs
- Developed organisational skills and time management
- Developed computer literacy, with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, achieving tangible and measurable improvements to the community.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends, to attend community events or meetings.
Desirable
- Experience in community and economic development and service delivery.
- A relevant qualification in Business, Community Development, Marketing or Tourism
- Experience working in Local Government and/or the non-profit sector
- Experience using digital tools (e.g., social media, websites & newsletters) to support community outreach and engagement.
