Pensioner/Senior Rates Rebate/Deferment
Pensioners with a concession card are entitled to receive up to a 50% rebate limited to a cap amount of $750 as per the Rates and Charges [Rebates/Deferments] Amendment Regulations 2017, and/or may be entitled to defer. You must pay your share of the Rates by June of that current financial year to receive the rebate. Persons who hold a WA Seniors Card AND a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card are entitled to the same level of concession as a pensioner.
WA Seniors with a state Seniors card is entitled to receive up to a 25% rebate limited to a maximum cap of $100; deferment option not available.
Eligibility Criteria – to be eligible for concessions under the Rates and Charges [Rebates and Deferments] Act 1992, an applicant must:
- on July 1 of the current financial year, own and occupy the property as their ordinary place of residence [own refers to registered on Certificate of Title];
- and must also be the holder of a valid concession card/s as below.
If a Pensioner either:
- Be in receipt of a pension and hold a Pensioner Concession Card or State Concession Card; or
- Hold both a WA Seniors Card issued by the Government of WA and a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
