Community Development Officer – Full-time / Part-time


The Shire of Moora is seeking a Community Development Officer to assist and support the Manager for Community Development and Stakeholder Services in their daily operations. This might include development of community focused projects and events, writing grant applications to secure funding and general organisation of community facilities and groups.


The successful applicant is a team-player with a positive can-do attitude, great customer service skills and a professional demeanour.

Essential

  • High-level knowledge of the community development space.
  • Strong communication skills, including research, reporting and public speaking
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a team-focused, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude
  • Demonstrated experience in managing client expectations and identifying needs
  • Developed organisational skills and time management
  • Developed computer literacy, with a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, achieving tangible and measurable improvements to the community.


Desirable

  • Experience in community and economic development and service delivery.
  • A relevant qualification in Business, Community Development, Marketing or Tourism
  • Willingness to participate in training and development programs.
  • Experience working in Local Government and/or the non-profit sector
  • Experience using Synergy Soft and/or Local Government Authority software
