Wheatbelt Medical Student Immersion Program

Last week we accommodated 22 Curtin University students as part of the 2023 Wheatbelt Medical Student Immersion Program by Rural Health West. The students had a busy week visiting the Moora Museum, St John Ambulance Sub Centre, Stephanie Mippy at Candy’s Bush Reserve, Gardener Street Arts Collective Community Garden, St Joseph's Primary School, Moora Districts Childcare Centre, and the Carers' WA Van at the Moora CRC.

They also enjoyed a BBQ at the Men’s Shed, a Teddy Bear Hospital at the Moora Primary School, a visit and health services panel discussion from our local doctors, and a wonderful farm visit hosted by Lyn & Neville Hamilton. They had the opportunity to thank their host families with a dinner on Thursday night at the Moora Performing Arts Centre.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to all of those involved, especially to the billet families who welcomed the students into their homes.
