Shire of Moora News: November

November is a month for looking back, and this issue is about the things worth remembering in Moora.

It starts with two new residents. Wally and Mrs Carnaby have taken up their places at Apex Park, and the caravans have followed in the droves. Social media and the press have been full of them, and it’s been a joy to see our town get this much attention. The Moora Historical Society Museum has seen the opportunity, too, with its volunteers deciding to trial opening every Sunday in November, 9am to 2pm, with a Devonshire tea included in the $5 entry. If you haven’t been through the door in a while, now is the time. Ask Kaye and the team about the wedding dresses, the old school supplies and the dunny, and don’t be surprised if you discover you’re related to someone in town - it happens often!

On Wednesday 11 November, we will be taking the time to pause for Remembrance Day. The Moora RSL warmly invites everyone to the Moora War Memorial, arriving by 10:45am for an 11am service. Students from Central Midlands Senior High School and Moora Primary School will take part, and it’s a fitting reminder that remembrance is handed from one generation to the next. It’s a short service, and all are welcome, so I hope to see you there.

Later in the month, country music royalty arrives, with An Evening with Adam Harvey at the Moora Performing Arts Centre on Thursday 26 November at 7pm. If you’re a Johnny Cash fan, tickets are available at https://www.trybooking.com/DJISG.

Whether you’re welcoming visitors, paying your respects or heading out for a night of good music, thank you for being part of what makes this community worth remembering.
