The Shire of Moora is working with Main Roads to resurface and repair Gardiner Street, between Atbara and Dargai Streets. Tree roots have damaged the road surface and are causing safety issues and noise for residents.
To repair the road, trees on both sides of the road and in the central median within this area of Gardiner Street need to be removed by the Shire.
The Shire has considered alternative options, such as installing root guards, however due to the proximity between the trees and the road it is not viable.
The road will be revegetated with suitable plantings in due course.
