Parks & Gardens – Supervisor

The Shire of Moora is seeking a motivated and hands-on Parks & Gardens Supervisor to lead the delivery of horticultural and grounds maintenance services across the Shire.
This role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supervising staff and maintaining parks, reserves and public open spaces to a high standard while ensuring safe and efficient work practices.
About the Role
You will provide on-site leadership to the Parks & Gardens team and contribute to planning, scheduling and delivery of maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day parks and gardens operations
- Allocate tasks and monitor work performance and quality
- Lead and participate in horticultural and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and operational procedures
- Assist with planning, scheduling and prioritising works
- Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders
- Report operational issues, maintenance needs and resource requirements
Essential Criteria
- Experience in horticulture, parks or grounds maintenance
- Demonstrated team leadership and supervision capability
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Experience with irrigation, lawn maintenance and herbicide application
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to undertake physical work in a variety of weather conditions
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate III (or higher) in Horticulture or a related discipline
- HR Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience in a local government environment
Employment is contingent upon:
- Provision of a current satisfactory National Police Clearance
- Pre-Employment Medical Assessment including Drug & Alcohol Testing
