Parks & Gardens – General Hand

The Shire of Moora is seeking a reliable and motivated Parks & Gardens General Hand to support the maintenance of parks, reserves and public open spaces across the Shire.
This is a hands-on outdoor role contributing to the presentation, safety and upkeep of community facilities and green spaces.
About the Role
Working as part of the Parks & Gardens team, you will assist with routine horticultural and grounds maintenance activities while supporting safe and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lawn mowing, edging, weeding, pruning and mulching
- Watering, planting and general garden maintenance
- Basic reticulation and minor maintenance tasks
- Pest and weed control activities
- Safe operation and care of tools and equipment
- Reporting hazards, maintenance issues and site conditions
- Completing timesheets and basic work records
- Following WHS procedures and contributing to a safe workplace
- Providing courteous interaction with the public and stakeholders
Essential Criteria
- Basic horticultural experience parks or grounds maintenance
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, exercising teamwork and a positive attitude
- Ability to undertake physical work in a variety of weather conditions
- C Class Australian Driver’s Licence
- Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in similar role
- HR Licence
- Provide First Aid Certificate
- Previous experience in a local government environment
Employment is contingent upon:
- Provision of a current satisfactory National Police Clearance
- A Pre-Employment Medical Assessment including Drug & Alcohol Testing
