Investment Opportunities
The Shire of Moora is a dynamic and exciting part of Western Australia. We boast a very reliable rainfall area that supports many successful and leading Western Australian farming enterprises. In recent times the Shire of Moora has been "discovered" in its close proximity to the Capital City of Perth (only 180km to the South) and its accessibility through major road rail networks including the Great Northern Highway, the Brand Highway, Midlands Rail Line and the Midlands Road being the most prominent.
The Shire of Moora boasts new enterprise to our west on the Dandaragan Shire boundary including a 15,000 head cattle feedlot called "Killarney Feedlot" currently being established as well as just across our boundary various horticultural enterprises such as 2 large citrus plantations and a tropical fruit orchard. Obviously this type of development in the vicinity of Moora as the regional centre means that there will be many opportunities for supporting infrastructure for these developments as well as new service opportunities with the forecast increase in population with staffing demands.
It is forecast that approximately 100 new full time employees will be needed to staff these businesses over the next 5 years and there will also be substantial employment of a seasonal nature. Thus creating many opportunities for new businesses.
We are also in the centre of one of the most reliable oilseed and cereal crop growing regions and therefore some great opportunities for the development of biofuels including ethanol and biodiesel into the future. The feedlot is also nearby to take the high protein waste from the biofuel process.
