About Us
Moora & Districts Child Care Centre is a part of the Shire of Moora. Committee meetings are held monthly consisting of Shire members, Child Care staff and committee members.
The Centre receives an operational subsidy and has approval for the Child Care Benefit fee relief, both of which are conditional upon our adherence to Federal and State Government regulations governing childcare centres.
Our Philosophy
Our aim is to meet children and parent's needs with genuine care and consideration developing an ongoing relationship with child and parent. We will provide with the best development and quality of care, in a warm, friendly and safe home like environment.
It is important that parents feel confident that their child is not just cared for in a basic sense, but also encouraged to develop social skills, be imaginative, creative, have adventures, learn to mix, share and play with their peers, whilst building self esteem and confidence. With opportunities that foster exploration and discovery, enabling children to find things out for themselves.
We support the learning with additional needs, by utilising childcare resource agencies and current child development, learning and understanding, to develop individual programs for these children. We encourage and develop children's awareness of the diversity of the difference and similarities between people, by fostering multiculturalism in our society.
Our program aims to cater for the individual needs of children in each age group. We base the program on child observations regularly done by staff so that we can provide stimulating activities that are developmentally, culturally and age appropriate. We plan individual, small and whole group experiences based on children's strengths and interests.
We believe strongly that children benefit from known positive, clear and consistent expectations to help guide their behaviour and interactions with others. Our staff recognise the importance of providing limits, which are continually discussed and reinforced in the centre. We encourage children to reflect on their own behaviour and to use words to express their feelings, solve peer conflicts independently and to reinforce appropriate behaviour among peers.
We believe all families have the right o expect and receive an extremely high quality standard of childcare. The centre abides by the Community Services (Child Care) Regulations 1988 and amendments 2001. Our staff, here at the Moora & Districts Child Care Centre are dedicated to every child and their family attending our centre. We strive to make our Centre feel like a home away from home.
