The Shire of Moora celebrated 100 years of local government on the 18th September 2009 with a community lunch, a new sculpture and interring a time capsule. A very large gathering of people, young and old, that included many visitors from the surround districts, past councilors, presidents, shire freeman, politicians and school children, joined the shire’s community celebration lunch prior to the unveiling of the Family Sculpture that commemorates the Shire’s significant milestone and the interring of the time capsule to mark the 100 year achievement.
